Process digitization helps you to optimize your processes and automate them through the use of appropriate IT solutions. In the process, previously manual processes are reduced through digital support, system boundaries and media discontinuities are eliminated, processes are mapped consistently from start to finish, and the necessary transparency is created. The data can also be processed jointly, searched more quickly and processed further, without any loss of quality.

In companies, data is often stored individually for departments, teams or even projects. In this way, however, completely separate data silos are created. As a result, there is no holistic overview of the existing data. Which data already exists at which location? How can required content be accessed? What data still needs to be collected?

On the basis of end-to-end process digitization, such decentralized data silos can be dissolved and the content linked with each other. Thus, they are available company-wide and via different channels for the corresponding user groups. Time-consuming multiple maintenance or interruptions in the workflow due to missing data from other departments should be a thing of the past.

Do you also sometimes feel that it takes ten applications for a single business process? The reason for this is non-integrated stand-alone solutions in which your company data is under lock and key and media disruptions are inevitable.

They prevent data from being viewed and used across system and user boundaries. There is a lack of transparency as to which data is available at which points in the company. There are often special regulations in individual sectors; in the public sector, for example, these include regulations on social insurance, trade examinations, Chamber of Industry and Commerce technical and specialist examinations, or specific compliance-compliant user authorizations. These are so extensive that only a few are fully aware of them. Intelligent software solutions must relieve their users at this point.

Solutions for hurdles in digital transformation

There is an awareness in companies of the value of digitization. The need for uniform data structures through a targeted digitization strategy is also obvious. But for the implementation it is sometimes difficult to find suitable personnel who have sufficient IT know-how for this special IT topic. Capacities are already lacking for the recording and validation of requirements.

Mastering the process of digitalisation in four steps:

1. Plan and analyse

The first step is to define clear goals: What should be achieved with digitalisation? What do the existing business processes look like? Which processes are to be digitalised and in what order? To what extent and over what period of time? How much budget is available?

2. Select technologies

In the second step, we work together to select the right IT solutions for your company. Do we use cloud services? Artificial intelligence? Centralised portals? How will the IT architecture be set up? Which data silos need to be dismantled? How will IAM management be implemented?

3.Implement and integrate

In the third step, we introduce the systems and processes into the company in a structured manner.

Who needs to be informed about which measures and when? Which employees are trained on which topics?

4. Optimise processes

In the fourth step, we evaluate data and analyse the measures taken so far.

What is running smoothly? Where is there room for improvement? What do future tasks look like? Which processes and systems can be scaled up?
The "human" factor

Effective requirement & test management is hardly possible, but would be indispensable. An additional hurdle is the “human factor”: without accompanying change management, users may not be sufficiently involved and technical migrations may not be successful.
